    BYU-Idaho to hold Communication Day

    Brigham Young University-Idaho students studying communication will have an opportunity to learn more about potential careers in this field on Thursday, October 6 as Communication Day is held on campus.

    The Communication Day schedule consists of a series of distinguished guest speakers who work in Communication fields. This list of speakers includes Bruce Lindsay, news anchor for KSL-TV 5 Eyewitness News in Salt Lake City; Rick Hall, managing editor with the Deseret Morning News in Salt Lake City; Jeanette Bennett, editor of Utah Valley Magazine, Utah Valley BusinessQ Magazine and Utah Valley Bride; Kit Allowitz, director of training and development for Centex-Home Team; Tim Brown, partner/executive vice president-public relations at Richter7 in Salt Lake City; and DeLyn Hendricks, general manager of Bonneville Radio of Idaho.

    “The theme this year is ‘Find Your Future’ and we know with the great speakers that are coming, students will be able to learn from professionals and see all that a communication degree has to offer,” said Amanda Pavlovsky, a student on the Communication Day planning committee.

    Communication Day begins with an opening panel with all the guest speakers from 8-9:15 a.m. in the Taylor Chapel. Three breakout sessions will run from 9:30-10:20 a.m., 10:30-11:20 a.m., and 11:30 a.m.-12:20 p.m. in the Taylor Chapel, Taylor 160, Taylor 170, Taylor 180 and Smith 240. The Forum Keynote Address, which will given by Bruce Lindsay of KSL-TV 5 Eyewitness News, starts at 2:00 p.m. in the Taylor Chapel.

    A reception where students can meet the guest speakers will be held in the MC Little Theater from 4:30-5:30 p.m.
