American Idol star and
former Brigham Young University-Idaho student Jon Peter
Lewis will perform at Brigham Young University-Idaho in
Rexburg Saturday, April 9.
Lewis will be the
featured act for the annual student Cabaret that features
dinner, entertainment and dancing.
The dinner will begin at
6 p.m. in the Manwaring Center with entertainment provided
by Jon Peter Lewis beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Hart
Auditorium. Following an hour-long show by Lewis, the
BYU-Idaho big band Sound Alliance will provide dance music.
The BYU-Idaho Ballroom Dancers will also perform floor shows
during the evening.
Semi-formal dress is
suggested. The cost for the dinner, show and dance is $30
per couple. The show and dance is $15 per couple or $8 for
singles. Tickets are available at the BYU-Idaho Ticket
Office or by calling 496-2230.
Lewis began singing at a
young age and has always enjoyed performing. While at
BYU-Idaho, he performed as Joseph in “Joseph and the Amazing
Technicolor Dreamcoat” at the Playmill Theater in West
Yellowstone during the summer of 2003.
After auditioning in
Honolulu for American Idol 3 in 2004, Lewis began his
national career. He became a contestant on the popular
television show and has been touring and creating a name for
himself throughout the nation.
Lewis is currently
living in Los Angeles writing and recording songs. He is
working on putting a band together and recording an album
that will be released this summer. A single is available on
