New construction course to cover

basic home maintenance

A class for future homeowners about purchasing, maintaining and repairing their homes will be introduced this winter semester at Brigham Young University-Idaho.

Construction 110, Home Maintenance, is a general consumer course that introduces students to both the inside and outside of their homes. Instruction will be given in basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical wiring, heating and safety.

“Purchasing a home is the single largest investment most of us will make in our lifetimes,” says Rudy Puzey, an instructor in the Architecture and Construction Department. “This course will assist future homeowners in the purchasing process and the years of maintenance and improvements that follow.

The class is open to all students and has no prerequisites. Course content includes lecture, lab work and tours of local homes.

Construction 110 is offered both blocks during the Winter 2003 semester on Mondays and Wednesdays 10-11:50 a.m. in Austin 208. # # #
