BYU-Idaho Construction Management students
take first place

REXBURG, Idaho -- Students from Brigham Young University-Idaho walked away with a first-place award at the National Association of Home Builders convention in Atlanta last week.

Competing against other construction management students from across the country, the BYU-Idaho students won first place in the two-year college division.

BYU in Provo, Utah, won first place in the four-year division.

It was the first time a team of students from BYU-Idaho had won first place in the annual contest. The contest involved designing a Habitat for Humanities house. The group of five students designed a 20-page set of drawings and lengthy report for the project and then gave a presentation at the conference.

Members of the BYU-Idaho team were Jacob Walker of Rexburg, Michael Henderson of Hobbs, N.M.; Jenalee Peterson of Salt Lake City; Aleesha Miller of Yucaipa, Calif.; and Jared Orton of Burley. The team coach was Garth Jensen, who teaches architecture at the university.
