Tuition
at Brigham Young University-Idaho in Rexburg,
Idaho, will be increased by 3.37
percent, or $43, starting Fall Semester 2004.
Tuition
will be raised from the current $1,277 to $1,320 per semester.
“It
covers basically the increased operating costs of the university,”
said Larry Rigby, budget officer at BYU-Idaho. “We increase tuition
every year, which reflects the increase in operating costs. Fortunately,
this is far less than other institutions have increased their rates.”
Rigby
said the increase maintains the balance the school has maintained in the
past, with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints funding 70
percent of the school’s operating costs and revenue from tuition
funding the other 30 percent.
As
in the past, students who are not members of The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints will pay one-and-one-half times the listed rate.
