Tuition increase announced

for BYU-Idaho students

Tuition at Brigham Young University-Idaho in Rexburg, Idaho, will be increased by 2.98 percent, or $37, starting Fall Semester 2003.

Tuition will be raised from the current $1,240 per semester to $1,277 per semester through Summer Semester 2004.

Tuition was not increased last year. Because of concerns about the economy and its effects on students and their families, the Board of Trustees did not raise tuition in 2002.

“The university and Board of Trustees are sensitive to the difficult economic conditions being experienced by many who attend or wish to attend,” says James Smyth, administrative vice president. “We are trying to hold our costs as low as we reasonably can and still keep the university moving forward.”

As in the past, students who are not members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will pay one-and-one-half times the listed rate. # # #
