Organist
Marsha Bjornn of Rexburg will present a free
recital Saturday, Nov. 15, at 7:30 p.m.
in the Barrus Concert Hall of the Snow
Center for the Performing Arts
at Brigham Young University-Idaho.
The
concert will feature selections with a wide range of organ styles and moods
from Bach, Handel, Benoit, Franck, Mendelssohn, Eccles and other composers.
“Quality
music really does elevate your spirit and gets you out of the humdrum of
daily life. I enjoy sharing the things that I learned musically with
others,” she says. “It gives me joy and happiness and I hope
the program will uplift others.”
Bjornn has taught piano as an adjunct faculty member at
BYU-Idaho for the past 20 years. She also teaches piano and organ in her
home.
“She
plays brilliantly on both the piano and organ. It is clear she is an
outstanding teacher,” says Darwin Wolford, director of organ studies
at BYU-Idaho.
A
graduate of Utah State
University, Bjornn
has performed on the piano and the organ both locally and throughout the
western United States.
