KBYR FM to start broadcasting

General Conference in Rexburg

For the first time, Rexburg radio station KBYR, 91.5 FM, will broadcast the 173rd Semi-Annual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Oct. 4 and 5 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. both days.

The broadcasts will originate from the Conference Center in Salt Lake City.

“We’re pleased to make General Conference available for the first time on KBYR,” says James Clark, general manager of Radio Services at BYU-Idaho. “It’s a perfect fit with the station’s inspirational format.”

The station has a limited range and can be heard within about a 5-mile radius of Rexburg.

Consecutive sessions of General Conference will also be repeated on KBYR Monday through Thursday, Oct. 6-9, at 9 p.m. and Monday through Thursday, Oct. 13-16, at 9 a.m.

General Conference repeat broadcasts on KBYR will provide opportunity and convenience for more people to hear the conference, Clark says.

KBYI, 100.5 FM, will also carry the conference live as it has for many years.
