Three
BYU-Idaho employees were honored this week with Exemplary Employee Awards
for their contributions to the university and exemplifying the guiding
principle of "Every person at BYU-Idaho is a teacher."
Egin native Michael Rydalch
has worked at BYU-Idaho for the past 12 years. Coming as a computer
technician and network service administrator, he has since worked as a
network analyst and is currently the network manager at BYU-Idaho. He is
responsible for the network design and maintaining the day-to-day
communication infrastructure on campus.
Rydalch likes the challenge of trying to keep pace with
increased technology and the changes being made at BYU-Idaho.
"It’s
been a wonderful experience. There’s been
lots of opportunities for growth as a person and I’ve really enjoyed
my associations with the students on campus. I feel very fortunate to rub
shoulders with them and feel of their energy and excitement," he says.
Deanna
Myers of Hibbard has worked as the Manwaring Center
information desk supervisor for the past 12 years. Managing a myriad of
different responsibilities that require her to know almost everything about
BYU-Idaho and its activities, she enjoys helping students and others find
what they need.
"It’s
been a choice experience to work here and have so many neat friends. The
people I work with are wonderful and the students are fantastic," she
says.
Rexburg
resident Sherrie Bonner has been working at BYU-Idaho for 18 years. She
began working as the physical education secretary in the summer of 1985 and
worked in that capacity for 10 years. Following that position, she worked
for the Division of Health Education and then for the College
of Education. She was asked to
transfer to the College of Business
and Communication in January 2001 as the dean’s secretary.
Bonner
says she has enjoyed working at BYU-Idaho because of the quality of her
co-workers. “I feel I
have had the best bosses a person could ever hope to have – all Christlike men and women,” she says.
