REXBURG, Idaho –

The annual Christmas Tree Lane, a display of Christmas trees decorated by various student organizations, wards and housing units, is currently on display at Brigham Young University-Idaho.

The trees, decorated around the theme “A Candyland Christmas,” will be on display through Monday, Dec. 13, on the second floor of the Manwaring Center in the lobby between the East and West Ballrooms.

“Because of the uniqueness of the campus groups decorating the trees, it’s different from most other Christmas tree festivals,” said Kris Fillmore on behalf of the Associated Women Students, who is sponsoring the event.

This year’s entries include not only traditional trees, but many unique and creative trees as well. The Chemistry Society’s tree is decorated with molecules made of gum drops and test tubes filled with crushed candy canes, while the Automotive Society’s tree features several decorations made of car parts.

“The smell of the trees and the whole atmosphere – students love it,” Fillmore said. “It gives them a touch of home away from home.”
