Sarah Iverson named Miss BYU-Idaho

REXBURG, Idaho - Brigham Young University-Idaho student Sarah Iverson of Moreland, Idaho, has been crowned Miss BYU-Idaho. She was selected from 11 finalists who were judged on talent, poise, an impromptu question, an interview and a written essay.

Iverson, daughter of Ted and Kelly Iverson, is a sophomore studying child development with a minor in Spanish. She is looking forward to graduating and pursuing a master’s degree in either psychology or counseling. She wants to work as a child counselor after her graduate studies.

She has volunteered on a committee called Happy Factory, a service organization that produces toy cars and sends them to children in third world countries.

Iverson has been a member of From the Heart since coming to BYU-Idaho in Fall 2003 as a freshman. From the Heart is a singing group that performs musical firesides.

The joy of her life though, has been gymnastics. She has been involved in the sport since she was 3 years old, and has coached for six years.

Iverson’s responsibilities as Miss BYU-Idaho include being a good example of womanhood and reigning over Spirit Week and throughout the year as Miss BYU-Idaho.
