Students
and employees at Brigham Young University-Idaho have until Nov. 1 to change
their current username to a new Net-ID to access campus computers.
Users
may obtain their new Net-ID online by visiting www.byui.edu/netid.
Government
privacy regulations require two different private, non-published,
electronic identifiers for access to confidential information. Presently,
username and e-mail identifiers are the same at BYU-Idaho.
Students
and employees will need the new Net-ID and a password to gain access to the
campus computer network and the Internet. The Net-ID change is required for
Winter Semester registration. E-mail addresses will not change.
The
change will result in a secured campus identification process coupled with
increased access to Church Educational System resources and computer
systems.
A few items to be aware of:
If employees are unable to get a successful indicator
that you created a new Net-ID, you will need to contact Personnel to
resolve the issue. Students should contact the registrar’s office for
help.
If you do get an indication of successful Net-ID
creation, do the following:
1. Log off
2. Wait 5 minutes
3. Log in
NOTE: Those using Blackboard might experience up to 30
minutes of delay as the new Net-ID synchronizes.
