BYU-Idaho Planetarium to commemorate

35th anniversary of lunar landing

REXBURG, Idaho – The Planetarium at Brigham Young University-Idaho will commemorate the 35th anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing on the moon during the month of October with a program entitled “Footsteps.”

The hour-long program will feature the history between man and the moon. The program will cover topics like the different cultural beliefs about the moon and the early development of liquid fueled rockets. The program will also highlight the story of Neil Armstrong and “Buzz” Aldrin’s successful landing on the moon with Apollo 11's lunar module named the Eagle and also what plans are in the making for returning to the moon.

The program will run each Thursday in October. Admission is $1.50 for general admission. The program will start at 7 p.m. and planetarium space is limited, so those that want to attend are asked to arrive at least 15 minutes early. Special showings can be scheduled in advice through the planetarium director Ellis Miller.
