Family and Child Advocacy Society


 

The BYU-Idaho Family and Child Advocacy Society is:

  • An on-campus society run by students
  • A society to promote and enhance student learning and professional growth
  • A way to get involved in the community
  • For students interested in supporting the family and child development
  • A place for friendship and mentoring
  • Where a student can learn more about classes in the Home and Family Department
  • A program that offers internship information through forums and meetings
  • A way to meet the faculty in the department

 

Some of the recent activities of the Society are:

  • Internship Evening
  • Faculty get-to-know-you activity
  • Major’s fair
  • Career Night
  • Peer advising
  • Guest speakers
  • Literacy activity

 

A few of the planned future activities are:

  • Enhancing the preschool playground by planting trees for shade
  • Willow house for the preschool playground
  • Butterfly garden for the preschool playground
  • Tree house on the small preschool playground
  • Internship Evening
  • Majors Information Forum
  • Attending professional conferences
