"Research tells us that from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. is the most
dangerous time of day for young people - when crime involving
youths doubles - as they leave school and return to an empty
household or neighborhood street unsupervised. The answer,
according to a consensus of experts, is to provide afterschool
programs in every community."

The Afterschool Partnership
Madison school district officials, Lincoln Elementary Principal, Mr. Michael Bone, representatives of the Lincoln Elementary PTO, representatives of the Department of Home and Family at BYU-Idaho and the local County 4H program assistant are working together to establish a high quality, sustainable afterschool program to be delivered at Lincoln Elementary school beginning in Fall 2008. The afterschool program will serve interested children and families in the Lincoln boundaries and will also serve as a practicum and internship placement site for Child Development majors at BYU-Idaho. More details will be coming!
