I-Learn Test (Assessment) Guidelines
Please follow these guidelines to have a successful I-Learn testing experience.
This message appears on every I-Learn test.
Here is a more comprehensive list of things to avoid that would prevent your test from being graded correctly:
- click Back, Home, Refresh/Reload, or other buttons in your internet browser
- go to another website or type in a new web address in the address bar
- click Favorites/Bookmarks
- press the Backspace key on your keyboard
- double click OK to start a test
- close the internet browser (click the red ‘X')
- stay logged in to a test for too long (3 hours is the max)
- click Submit more than once. If your connection is slow, you may think the test is not being sent. Wait at least 2-5 minutes for a confirmation that your test was received.
- If you must enter a password to begin the test, click the Submit button. Do not press the Enter key.
Other issues:
- Loss of internet connection or internet times out (poor internet service)
- Power failures
- Computer crashes
- Excessive traffic on the entire I-Learn system (the busiest times for I-Learn are in the afternoons & evenings)
Actions to foster success:
- Allow yourself plenty of time to take the test before the test closes.
- Make sure you have a good internet connection before beginning a test. Wireless connections may not be as reliable as wired connections.
- Only use the links & buttons within the I-Learn pages and not the browser buttons.
- Spyware and other programs running on your computer can interfere. Click here to see information about Anti-virus and Anti-spyware software.
- Pop-up blocker software may block a test from opening. Set you Pop-up blocker settings to allow http://ilearn.byui.edu/
