Palm Centro Setup
If you plan to synchronize your Palm Cetro to BYU-Idaho Exchange server for the purposes of maintaining Contacts and Calendar items, then do not synchronize your contacts and calendar to Palm Desktop software. If you do you will duplicate your contacts and calendar items.
If your items are duplicated, you can sort by modified date, and delete the duplicates that were created at the same date and time that you synchronized your device.
Synchronizing requires either a wireless connection, a data connection, or an IP connection through your USB cable.
Home Screen
From the Home Screen Click on "E-Mail." At the top left is a menu tab. Click on this and you will also see an accounts tab. If there is an existing Outlook (EAS) account configured, you will need to edit this account. You will be unable to set up more than one Outlook account, and you are unable to remove the account if it is the only one set up. For new accounts click "Add Account"
Account Setup
On the account setup page, type in your full E-Mail address and the password you normally use to log in. Name the account byui.edu. The name does not matter, but will help you identify your account later. Click Next
Account Setup (cont.)
The mail type is "Outlook (EAS)." for a BYUI account, POP is not correct, and IMAP is not correct. Chosing one of those options will allow you to receive mail, but to send mail you will have to receive support from another provider.
For employees, the username is BYUI\netid. To type the backslash click the menu key on your keypad which has the symbol of a menu and a down arrow. Click "Keyboard" and choose the backslash which leans up and left into a left-to-right string of letters.
The mail server is mail.byui.edu. Click Done.
