Connecting to Outlook Live with Apple Mail (IMAP)


 

STEP 1:

Open Apple Mail, and then select the "File" option. This will open a new window, in this window you will want to select the "Add Account..." option.

 

Open Apple Mail and go to Account settings

 


 

STEP 2:

Enter your name in the first field. You will enter your University Email address, and password in the last two fields. You will then click continue.

STEP 3:

Select IMAP for your "Account type".Enter BYUI as your description. For your username you will enter your University Email Address, and example would be "bat09000@byui.edu ". You will then enter your University password in the last field. You will then click Continue.

STEP 4:

For the Outgoing server options you will enter BYUI as your account description. You will then need to enter your "Outgoing Mail Server", this can be found by following the directions located here. You will then click Continue.

“If you are on campus you may use mail.byui.edu to send email. If you are off campus you must use another mail server to send mail. BYUI currently does not support an outgoing mail server that is available both on and off campus.”

STEP 5:

You will now verify that all the information you entered is correct. You will then click the "Create" button. Your Email should begin to download.

 

Verify your Infomation is Correct 


 

STEP 6:

You will now just want to make sure that all of your emails you wanted were downloaded.
