The Bachelor's degree in Emergency Services Administration was engineered to meet the demands of Fire & EMS agencies and fulfill the prerequisites to most professional schools including Physician's Assistant programs.
The aspiring firefighter can greatly bolster their skill set by completing the Fire Essentials course and HAZMAT Awareness making yourself eligible to test for the nationally recognized Firefighter I and Firefighter II certificate as you get real-time, hands-on experience with BYU-I's very own fire engine. Or, be the emergency medical professional that you have always envied by completing the Associates degree, minor, or Bachelor's degree in Emergency Services Administration with the National Registry Paramedic certification. The program further offers B.L.S., A.C.L.S., P.A.L.S., and P.H.T.L.S. certification.
Physician's Assistant programs indicate that paramedics are the most prized applicants. All of the clinical hours garnered in the paramedic program will normally be credited as clinical experience required for admission. We can help place you in a P.A. school with a very competitive Bachelor's degree.
While the classes are comprehensive enough to give the medical practitioner mastery of all essential skills such as: patient assessment, airway management including intubation, I.V. therapy, ECG interpretation, and pharmacological intervention; graduates are further armed with the broad management skills required to command EMS agencies, tactical medical teams, fire department personnel, or to augment Emergency Departments and/or clinics.
The degree's management background enables the employed graduate to vault to the top of the ranks in the above listed agencies with nearly unlimited upward mobility.
