Multi-Lingual Minor
Beginning Fall 2008, students will be able to get minors in the languages of their missions.
For example: If an RM who went to Sweden wants to get a minor in Swedish, the minor will look like this:
Swedish 101 (4) The RM will take a test from BYU-Provo to receive these credits. If he/she does not pass
Swedish 102 (4) them all, they are out of luck. We have been offering these tests for over 20 years now.
Swedish 201 (4) The majority pass all the classes, but some do not.
Language 321 (3) - Advanced Grammar in Languages
Language 400 (3) - Civilization and Culture
Language 410 (3) - Language and Literary Traditions
These six classes will constitute a 21 credit minor (non-teaching) in most languages.
The languages we will probably offer minors in are:
Afrikaans, Albanian, Arabic, Armenian, Bulgarian, Cambodian, Cantonese, Cebuano, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, Farsi-Persian, Finnish, German, Greek (modern), Guarani, Hmong, Hungarian, Icelandic, Ilonggo/Hiligaynon Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Malagasy, Maori-New Zealand, Mongolian, Navajo, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Quechua, Romanian, Samoan, Serbian, Swedish, Tagalog, Thai, Ukrainian, Vietnamese
