steps TO APPLY FOR A student loan

Below are the steps to apply for a loan for both academic years.  These steps must be in done in sequential order with the exception of step 8 which can be done at anytime.

            Step 1.  Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Go to Steps to apply.

Step 2.  You may be required to provide additional documents to determine eligibility. (You will be notified by mail if required)

Step 3.  Complete the electronic Financial Aid Projection form (I-FAP).

Step 4.  View the Award Statement.  This Statement will show the amount of loan you can receive.

Step 5.  Complete and submit the electronic Stafford Loan Acceptance Form. 

Step 6. Wait 1-2 business days  before going to Step 7.

Step 7. Complete the electronic Master Promissory Note  (MPN) (first time borrower only).

Step 8.  Complete the electronic Entrance Loan Counseling (first time borrower only).
