Steps to Receive Federal Financial Aid

Step 1. Read the following information
- The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the
first step to apply for Pell Grants and/or Student Loans.
- If you qualify, the Pell Grant will automatically be awarded.
- If interested in student loans, there are additional steps
to complete. See Step 5 below.
- If you are engaged to be married,
contact our office for more details on how and when to
apply for federal student aid.

Step 2. Request
a PIN from the Department of Education.

- You may print and complete a paper
Pre-Application
Worksheet before you begin the FAFSA.
- The BYU-Idaho Title IV code which is required on the FAFSA is:
001625.
- Click
here to make corrections to a processed FAFSA

Step 5.
Watch for the results of your Financial Aid application
|
Step 6. Money
will be sent to the BYU-Idaho Accounting Office.
- Tuition, Fees, On-Campus housing, and Meal Plans will
automatically be deducted from your award.
- To have other campus charges deducted automatically, you
must answer "Yes" on the
Title IV authorization form.

Step 7. Pick up
remaining money at the Cashiers Office located in the Kimball Administration
Building.
- The Cashiers Office located in the Kimball building is open Monday-Friday between 8:15
a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
