Purpose: |
|
The purpose of the Jacob Spori Teaching Summit is to promote instructional success and
to review instructional challenges; to encourage our teachers to stretch beyond the limits
of their own disciplines and teaching styles; to promote self-appraisal and confidence
building; and to celebrate our teaching heritage inherited from Jacob Spori and many other
great teachers.

How the Summit Works: |
|
The Jacob Spori Teaching
Summit will be patterned after the successful format of the Great Teacher's Seminar.
There will be no experts invited from the outside and the schedule will use a rigid
minimal structure. The success of the Great Teacher's Seminar is based on the
premi se that faculty themselves are the essential resource needed to strengthen each other
in their teaching professions. College faculty tend to be more receptive to instructional
input from other teachers. Faculty from different disciplines, representing various
interests and experiences, create instructional ingenuity. Share previous summit
participants' experiences on the Faculty
Response site.
