Idaho Technology Certification Exam
BYU-Idaho currently uses Boise State University's technology assessment to satisfy Idaho's technology requirement for educators. The test is not required for graduation, however, it is required to receive teacher certification in Idaho and also meets the requirements of 42 other states.
The exam consists of 105 multiple choice questions broken up into seven technology areas. These areas are:
- Computing Environment
- Curriculum Integration
- Presentation Software
- Word Processing
- Spreadsheets
- Databases
- Internet Technologies
You are allowed up to 2 hours to complete the exam. You must arrive at the testing center at least 2 hours before closing to take this test or you will be turned away.
An overall score of 75% is required to pass this exam. Each of these seven areas are worth approximately 15% of the total score. The exam can be taken as many times as necessary to pass but students must wait 90 days before taking a retake exam.
