Jane Clayson Johnson, former Co-host of The Early Show on CBS, is a graduate of Brigham Young University. She began her career in broadcasting at KSL-TV in Salt Lake City and later worked as a network correspondent for The CBS Evening News , 48 Hours, World News Tonight with Peter Jennings ,and Good Morning America. Her many assignments have taken her from Kosovo to Australia to Indonesia. She has covered events such as September 11 and its aftermath, the 1996 U.S. presidential campaign, and the OJ Simpson civil trial. Honored with many journalism awards including an Emmy and the Edward R. Murrow Award, she is also the recipient of an honorary doctorate degree from Utah State University.

Patrick O'Callahan, chief editorial writer of The News Tribune, is an honors graduate from the University of Washington, where he received a B.A. in journalism in 1979. He specializes in writing on complex policy issues and has written most of the Tribune’s editorials on state legislation, transportation policy, legal matters, higher education, health care issues and foreign affairs. He has won numerous awards for his work including McClatchy Newspapers’ coveted President’s Award in 2006 for opinion and commentary.

Susan B. Walton, former Director of Corporate Communication at Harley-Davidson Motor Company, has recently joined the Brigham Young University faculty. She worked for nearly 20 years in public relations and communications for Fortune 500 companies, is a member of the National Strategic Planning Committee of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), and serves as advisor to the BYU chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America. She served as a global communications leader for Plastics Communications at Dow Chemical Company and was the Director of Corporate Communications at Boise Cascade Corporation during their acquisition of OfficeMax.

Travis Quast, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for The Idaho Statesman, received a B.A. in Public Communications with an emphasis in Advertising from the University of Idaho. He has worked for newspapers for over 14 years including The Salt Lake Tribune, The Deseret News, The Bellingham Herald, and The Idaho Statesman. He also worked as the Advertising Trainer in Salt Lake before becoming Classified Sales Manager supervising a sales team of 50. He was recognized with the Gannett Retail Advertising Manager of the Year Award in 2003. He currently oversees the marketing efforts of the newspaper.

Ed J. Payne is Senior Manager and Client Representative for all the First Presidency projects for the LDS Church including General Conference and Temple Dedications. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting from Brigham Young University and a Masters degree in Communication and Psychology. He served as a writer and producer for Bonneville Communications for 11 years and then managed his own company, Ed Payne & Associates, for 12 years. For the past 23 years, he has produced Music and the Spoken Word. His diverse work has garnered him over 30 National Broadcast Awards including six Tellys.

Dale O. Zabriskie, President and principal owner of Zabriskie & Associates in Salt Lake City, received a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Utah. He currently serves as President and CEO of the Utah Broadcasters Association and is the 2007 President of the National Alliance of State Broadcast Associations (NASBA). He wrote for the Deseret News before assuming a number of public relations and advertising positions in Utah and Washington, D.C. Mr. Zabriskie is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and was selected as the 2002-2003 Parry D. Sorensen Distinguished Lecturer at the Communication Department of the University of Utah.
