Department Scholarships
Scholarships/awards available from the BYU-Idaho Computer Science and Engineering Department are awarded each semester based on faculty recommendation. Recommendations from the faculty are submitted approximately six weeks prior to the end of each semester for the upcoming semester. Students in all programs in the department (Computer Engineering [CompE], Computer Science [CS] and Electronics Engineering Technology [EET]) are considered for the awards. Awards are given for a single semester. A student may receive more than one award per year up to an annual maximum as determined by the department.
Students that receive scholarships/awards from the department must meet the following criteria for the semester during which the award is received:
- Being a full-time student at BYU-Idaho with at least 14 credits for the entire semester
- Having completed CS 165 and CompE 224 if you are a CompE or CS major
- Having a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater
- Not already receiving scholarships/awards from BYU-Idaho that are equal to full tuition
- Having less than 130 earned credits
At the start of each semester you should send an email to
cse-scholarships@byui.edu to indicate if you should, or should not, be considered for a departmental scholarship/award for the next semester. (If using the email link does not provide the text of the response message, you may copy, paste into an email and edit the response message from this link: Scholarship Response Text.)
