Classes for PMP participants
Core Classes
Each participant wil enroll for all the PMP Core Classes (see list at right). These courses have been selected to help prepare prospective missionaries for mission service and life in the mission field.
In addition, PMP students may enroll in as many other Online and Evening School courses as necessary. We encourage students to study the BYU-Idaho Catalog and communicate with BYU-Idaho Academic Advising to help determine which other courses will best work into their academic plan.
When are PMP classes offered?
Because PMP students have not yet officially started their assigned track at BYU-Idaho, administration of the program is by BYU-Idaho Continuing Education (CE). All PMP course work will be through CE.
CE classes are BYU-Idaho courses. They will appear on transcripts the same as day classes and are taught by the same quality instructors.
CE typically offers courses in the evenings and online. PMP Core Courses have been allowed to be scheduled during the normal academic daily schedule in the first two and last two class periods, 7:45-10 a.m. and 3:15-5:30 p.m., the least busy times on campus. These core courses have been designed as "learning community" courses, meaning only PMP students are in the class.
In the remaining classes, PMP students will join other BYU-I students in Evening School and/or interactive Online Courses. We wanted to leave flexibility of choice in these classes as students have different requirements for majors, etc.
