Nauvoo Student Tours: Itinerary
The following is an example of a typical Nauvoo Student Tour itinerary:
Day 1
- 12 noon depart from Manwaring circular driveway
- Get acquainted introductions
- Dinner in Rock Springs or Rawlins, Wyoming
- Sleep, sleep, sleep! (Count sheep if you have to!)
Day 2
- Breakfast north of Independence, Missouri
- Arrive in Independence, Missouri
- Site visitations to Temple Lot, LDS Visitors Center, Community of Christ Temple, etc.
- Travel to and visit Liberty Jail (about 20 miles north of Independence)
- Travel to and visit Far West Temple site (about 40 miles north of Independence)
- Travel to and visit Adam-Ondi-Ahman (About 80 miles north of Independence)
- Dinner-stop on the way to Nauvoo, Illinois (Chilicothe)
- Arrive at Fort Madison motel location at about 10 p.m. or so
Day 3
- Continental Breakfast at the motel. Come dressed for temple and bring a change of clothes if you desire to change after the temple (leave suitcases etc. at motel)
- 7 a.m. Depart for Carthage (one hour tour of jail)
- Return to Nauvoo
- 10 a.m. Baptisms in Nauvoo Temple (Bring your recommends!)
- Lunch (About noon)
- 1 p.m. Arrive at the Community of Christ Visitor's Center and tour of Smith homes
- 2 p.m.(approximate time) Short discussion in the Red Brick Store, 2nd floor
- Free time to visit Nauvoo until 4:30 p.m.
- 4:45 p.m. Buffet Dinner at Hotel Nauvoo
- 7 p.m. Theatrical production at Social Hall or free time to visit Nauvoo sites
- 8:30-9 p.m. return to motel in Fort Madison
Note: Remember to stock up on some goodies for your Sunday lunch before Sunday
Day 4
- Continental Breakfast at the motel
- 9 a.m. Sacrament Meeting at Nauvoo Ward
- 10:30 a.m. departure for Winter Quarters
- Lunch while traveling
- Kanesville Tabernacle (about 4:30 to 5 p.m.)
- Winter Quarters Visitor's Center and Pioneer Cemetery
- On bus testimony meeting
- Sleep, sleep, sleep!
Day 5
- Arrive in Rexburg around noon
