1. Who can take Continuing Education credit classes?
- High school graduates
- Students 19 years of age
- High school seniors with principal and Continuing Education administration approval
- Off-track BYU-Idaho students
- Applicants who have missed deadlines for day school
2. Is there an application and/or admissions process?
Beginning Winter Semester 2009, if you are a community patron and not admitted to BYU-Idaho, you must submit an application before you register for classes from Continuing Education. You can print the CE Application here. (Return to questions)
3. When can I register?
You may register on the first day classes become available for registration. Regardless of how many credit hours you have, all registration begins on the same day.

5. How are these registration errors resolved?
- Message "You are not eligible to enroll at this time."
This means either your credit level has not been met, or you are on-track and not allowed to take the class, or you are attempting to register for class before the first day of registration.
- The website automatically returns to the previous page when a certain point is reached.
Disable the pop-up blocker on your browser by holding down the CTRL key on the keyboard.
- The class is full, and I want to be on a waiting list.

6. Can a full degree be earned through Continuing Education?
Continuing Education has developed a program to allow former Ricks, BYU-Idaho, BYU-Hawaii, and LDS Business College students to obtain a Bachelor of University Studies degree. (Return to questions)
7. Do Continuing Education credit classes count for BYU-Idaho Credit?
Yes. Students taking Continuing Education credit classes receive BYU-Idaho credit. (Return to questions)
8. How many credits per semester can I take through Continuing Education?
You may take as many as your schedule allows. Some students will take as many as 15 credits. (Return to questions)

10. Are all credit classes taught after 5 p.m. considered Continuing Education credit classes?
No. Some day school classes begin after 5 p.m. and are limited to students who are on-track. All available Continuing Education classes can be found by clicking the Campus and Online Classes links to the left. (Return to questions)
11. If I'm on academic probation or suspension, am I allowed to take Continuing Education credit classes?
Students who are on academic probation or suspension from BYU-Idaho will not be allowed to take classes through Continuing Education. Please view BYU-Idaho's Catalog for Academic Policies. (Return to questions)

13. Can I register for Continuing Education credit classes if I am on-track?
Continuing Education credit classes are reserved for community members and students who are off-track. However, most Continuing Education classes allow a limited number of on-track students to enroll. These available openings to on-track students are designated by section numbers 190-194 (evening school) and 801-804 (online classes). (Return to questions)
14. May Continuing Education students obtain a BYU-Idaho ID card, use the Hart Building, and have BYU-Idaho student health insurance?
- A student ID card may be obtained at the Manwaring Center in room 162. (Bring your photo ID.)

15. I am a non-traditional student. How do I register for Continuing Education credit classes?
Contact the Continuing Education office only after you have registered for your six credit hours of day school classes. Please mention you are a non-traditional student. (Return to questions)
16. Can I register by phone if I don't have access to a computer?
Telephone registration is not available. All registration must take place online. Computers are widely available on campus, at public libraries, or at the Continuing Education office. (Return to questions)
17. How do I obtain a NetID, a PIN number, and a BYU-Idaho email account?
A NetID may be obtained at the Registrar's office verification window in the Kimball Building or call (208) 496-1084. The PIN number is your birth month and year, unless it has been changed. Contact the Continuing Education office at (208) 496-1040 if it has been forgotten. To set up a BYU-Idaho e-mail account, call the McKay Library Computer Help Desk at (208) 496-2361. 18. When is the last day to drop a credit class?
See the BYU-Idaho Academic Schedule for drop deadlines. After deadlines have passed, you must petition by writing a letter to the Division of Continuing Education explaining the extenuating circumstances. Students WILL NOT be automatically dropped from a class if they fail to attend. (Return to questions)
