The 10 most frequently asked questions

 

 

1. What's the difference between a minor and a cluster?

A cluster is half a minor totalling 12-15 credits of classes that you can choose, whereas a minor is 24 set credits.  Want to apply for a cluster? Stop by our office for an application form.

 

2. I want to change my major but do I have too many credits?

If you are over 75 credits you may not be able to change your major, go to the registrar's office.

 

3. How many credits do I need to graduate?

120 credits is the minimum, but make sure you don't go over 140 (you may get kicked out) if you are or think you will go over 140 credits you may need to petition at the Admissions office in the Kimball building.

 

4. Where can I get a four year plan?

We have some forms that are helpful for you, please check the information catalogue for a free hand-out.  Also stop by the office and we will gladly check your graduation report for you, and help with planning the rest of your

classes, we'll even print you out one for free!  Another option is to print one off online BUT for the most accurate graduation report please come in and see us.

 

5. What classes should I take next semester?

Look online under "Graduation Report" and check to see what classes you are needing to take, if you would like some personla advice on the matter, just come in and say hello, we will review the classes that you have taken so far

6. I am on the Fall/Winter track, can I apply for "Fast-Track"?

No.  Only Summer/Fall or Winter?Summer can apply for fast track. Ask Admissions in the Kimball building for more information.

 

7. When is the Academic Advising Office Open?

We are open Mon-Fri from 8am-5pm, we are however closed for Tuesday devotionals.

 

8. How do I get a cluster approved?

Firstly fill out the form, then get Brother Carson to sign it, then take the form to the department chair of the cluster you have chosen.  We can send the form to the department chair for you, however it will be apporved sooner if you

deliver it yourself.

 

9. When will I know if my Graduation Application was approved?

You should receive an e-mail from us notifying you whether you have been approved or what classes you still need to take.

 

10. What Majors do you advise for?

We advise for the following Majors and Minors; Accounting, Business Management, Communications, Economics,

Information Systems and Recreational Leadership
