LDS Missionary Deferment

Students leaving to serve an LDS Mission may hold their enrollment while they serve by completing this deferment. If a student will not enter the MTC before the end of a semester of their track, BYU-Idaho expects that student to attend the full semester preceding their MTC entry date.Consecutive deferments are not allowed.

Qualifications:

Be a BYU-Idaho full-time, degree seeking student.

Enter MTC before the end of your required semester of attendance.

Do not attend or enroll at another university.

Not on academic suspension or dismissal.

Serve a complete full-time mission with honorable release.

To defer admission for mission service, submit the following before leaving on your mission:

LDS Missionary Deferment form.

Copy of your mission call.

Submit completed deferment form to the BYU-Idaho Admissions Office. Address and fax information are found on the contacts link at the top right of this page.

International Students should not complete this form without contacting BYU-Idaho International Services Office at (208) 496-3248.

Once your deferment is accepted or denied you will receive a notification letter.
