overview orientation deferments student services leaving school fast grad

Fast Grad

Students on the Spring/Fall or Winter/Spring tracks may apply to attend BYU-Idaho year-round for the remainder of their time at BYU-Idaho if they meet the following criteria:

        • Must have completed at least 50 credits.
        • Must have attended BYU-Idaho for one full rotation of their track.
        • Must have a cumulative college GPA of at least 2.8.
        • May not have deferred the most recent semester of their track.
        • Must take at least 15 credits per semester each remaining semester until graduating.  Exceptions may only be made during the final semester.

Students meeting these qualifications can apply for Fast Grad by meeting with the Satellite Academic Advisor for their college.  For a list of these advisors, visit Satellite Academic Advisor.  Together, you will review the qualifications and prepare a grad plan which lists your future coursework.  This form must be signed by the student, the Satellite Advisor, and the Department Chair, and then returned to the Admissions Office.

Acceptance to Fast Grad does not change a student’s track.  Failure to comply with the requirements of Fast Grad will result in a student’s removal from the program, and the student will be unable to enroll in Fast Grad again.  Students who will need more than one override must receive an updated signature from their Satellite Advisor before additional overrides will be granted.  For further questions, contact BYU-Idaho Admissions at (208) 496-1090.
